Campaigner for nurtured and evidence-based childbirth. Kitzinger has worked towards women's informed choice on pregnancy and childbirth and supported home births since the 1960s. A graduate in social anthropology from St Hugh's College, Oxford, her research on childbirth includes women's experiences of episiotomy, induction, and the birth environment.
