Sociologist, broadcaster, and writer. Laurie Taylor studied at Birkbeck College, University of London, before training as a sociologist at the University of Leicester. Taylor began his broadcasting career, appearing on Stop the Week. Since 1998, Taylor has written and presented Thinking Allowed for BBC Radio 4. He writes regularly for the Times Higher Education Supplement, The Times, the Independent and New Statesman.
