Acclaimed and award-winning poet. Nagra was born in Yiewsley to immigrant Sikh Punjabi parents who came to London in the 1950's. The family moved to Sheffield in 1982 when his parents bought a small business there. Nagra was first inspired to write poetry after picking up a copy Songs of Innocence and Experience by William Blake at the age of 19. With an A Level in English Literature, he relocated to London to read English at Royal Holloway, University of London. He teaches poetry at Brunel University, is Poet in Residence at Radio 4 and is author of Look We Have Coming To Dover (2007), Tippoo Sultan's Incredible White-Man-Eating Tiger Toy-Machine!!! (2011), and Ramayana: a retelling (2013).
