Professor Emeritus of Astrophysics, University of Oxford. Jordan attended University College London for her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She is a leading authority in the field of solar physics. In 1994, Jordan became the first female president of the Royal Astronomical Society and later became Head of Theoretical Physics at the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics, Oxford (1996-2008).
