Balsingh Chandrasingh Thakur Sahib was educated at Rajkumar College, Rajkot. The college was first founded for the education of the princely order by the princes and chiefs of Kathiawad for their sons and relations. The college opened in 1970, making Balsingh Chandrasingh one of the first to attend the school which is now one of the oldest educational institutions in India. He was part of a long succession of princely rulers of Wadhwan in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. He succeeded Dajiraji Chandrasinhji who ruled from 1875 until his death on 5 May 1885. Balsingh Chadrasingh ruled for 25 years from 20 May 1885 to 25 May 1910. He was succeeded upon his death in May 1910 by Jashwantsinhji Becharsinhji.
