Felix Fenston started his career in property as an estate agent which led him into property development. His most famous development involved the demolition of a white elephant, the St James Theatre in London. This was opposed by many in the art world including the famous actress Vivien Leigh. From a protest rally in Trafalgar Square she invaded the House of Lords and interrupted a debate on the matter and had to be ejected by Black Rod.
The efforts to save the theatre came to nothing as there was no money available to save it. In 1957 the theatre was demolished and a soulless office block now occupies the site.
