Artist Adrian George enrolled at the Harrow School of Art in 1961 and started exhibiting his work in 1970. At his studios in London and Paris he created figurative works in pastels, pencil, crayon, and oil. His portraits of Sir William Gerald Golding (NPG 5922, 1986) and Sir Arthur Charles Clarke (NPG 6451, 1995) are held in the National Portrait Gallery's Collection. Other portrait subjects included Peter Sellers and Barbara Windsor. George also created several painting diaries for the Sunday Times and the Daily Telegraph.
