Beth Chatto was a plantswoman, garden designer and author best known for creating the Beth Chatto Gardens near Elmstead Market, in Essex. She is famous for having written a number of books on gardening for specific conditions. Chatto lectured throughout the UK, United States, Canada, Australia, Holland and Germany.
