Novelist; her poems were included in a pseudonymous publication of 1846, with those of her sisters Charlotte and Anne; she is generally acknowledged to be the most considerable poet of the three; her novel Wuthering Heights, 1847, was not acclaimed as one of the masterpieces of the period until after her death.
