Stanley Owen Buckmaster, 1st Viscount Buckmaster
(1861-1934), Lord ChancellorSitter in 5 portraits
Trained in the law, Buckmaster was called to the Bar in 1884 and was appointed queen's counsel in 1902. He entered Parliament as a Liberal MP in the 1906 general election. Buckmaster held office as Member of the Council of the Duchy of Lancaster, as Solicitor General and as Lord Chancellor. He was appointed a privy counsellor in 1915.
