Sir Paul Fildes

(1882-1971), Microbiologist; son of Sir Luke Fildes

Sitter in 3 portraits
Pathologist; Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander in the RNVR, served in the RN Hospital, Haslar (1915-19). Fildes was awarded OBE (1919). He was a member of the scientific staff, Medical Research Council (1934-49) and a Fellow of the Royal Society. Fildes was also the author of works on haemophilia and syphilis.
