Painter; trained at the Slade (1896-9) where his fellow students included Augustus John, Harold Gilman and Wyndham Lewis. He became a leading exponent of English Post-Impressionism. While working in Paris and Dieppe in 1904-6 Gore became familiar with the work of post-impressionist painters including Cézanne, Gauguin and Van Gogh. Gore was a key member of the Fitzroy Street Group, a founder of the Camden Town Group, 1911, of which he was President, and of the London Group, 1913. In 1912 he directed the mural decorations at the nightclub, 'The Cave of the Golden Calf'.
