Sir William George Hylton "1st Baron Hylton" Jolliffe 1st Bt was born on December 7, 1800 in Westminster, London, England, the son of William J. Jolliffe and Julia (Pytches) Jolliffe. He married Eleanor Paget on October 6, 1825 in London, Middlesex, England. He died June 1, 1876 in Merstham House, Merstham, Surrey, England.
He was an Officer in the 15th Dragoons and took part in the
Peterloo massacre at Manchester on 16 August 1819. A soldier and Conservative politician; MP for Petersfield.
