Industrialist and philanthropist; began career as a bicycle mechanic. His inexpensive, mass-produced motor cars such as the Morris Oxford (1913), the MG (1923) and the Morris Minor (1931) revolutionised the motor industry in Britain. He endowed many medical and educational foundations.
