Poet; best known for her lyrical poems on the theme of unhappy love and loss; also wrote religious and meditative poetry and verse for children; among her best-known works are ''Goblin Market'' and '' Other Poems'', 1862, and ''The Prince's Progress'', 1866; she was sister of the poet and painter D.G. Rossetti, and of the art critic W.M.Rossetti.
