Wigan published an edition of Aretaeus, 1723, and other writings, 1732. He was principal of New Inn Hall, Oxford, 1726-32, and physician to Westminster Hospital, 1733-37. He accompanied Edward Trelawny (1699-1754) to Jamaica, where he died in 1739.
