(1893-1980), Writer on socialism; wife of George Douglas Howard ColeSitter in 7 portraits
Socialist; Secretary, Labour Research Department (1917-25). With her husband, G. D. H. Cole, she established the Society for Socialist Inquiry and Propaganda (1930) and the New Fabian Research Bureau (1931). In addition to works on politics, economics and Labour history she and G. D. H. Cole jointly wrote twenty-nine detective novels.
