Violinist; Jelly and her sister Adila were the daughters of the chief of police in Budapest and the great-nieces of the violinist Josef Joachim. Based mostly in Britain from 1914, they were celebrated performers of a wide variety of music and the dedicatees of work by Holst, Bartok and Ravel.
