Qualified as a doctor at Cambridge before co-authoring and performing in the revue, Beyond the Fringe (1960) and debuting as a director with John Osborne's Under Plain Cover (1962). Presented BBC arts programme, Monitor (1964-5).His wide-ranging achievements include The Body in Question, a series for BBC television (1978) and Mirror Image: Jonathan Miller on Reflection, an exhibition curated for the National Gallery (1998).
