(1879-1970), Composer, poet and writer

Sitter in 4 portraits
Composer. Many of his early successes including an opera, The Alchemist (1925) were in Germany, though he was dubbed 'the English Debussy' for his exotic harmonies. The exquisite 1st Piano Concerto (1915) was premiered by Stokowski in Philadelphia and salon pieces like Lotus Land (1905) were highly popular.
