Dame Janet Maria Vaughan (1899-1993), Haematologist and radiobiologist

Pathologist; Janet Vaughan was an authority on diseases of the blood and bone and set up, in 1939, one of the first blood transfusion depots; latterly she worked on the effects of radiation; Principal of Somerville College, Oxford (1945-67).
