Willis Hall

Willis Hall was a playwright and radio and television writer who drew on his working class Leeds roots in much of his material. His most famous creation was Billy Liar (1960), co-written with Keith Waterhouse, his lifelong friend and collaborator. Hall wrote more than a dozen children's books. He also wrote forty radio and television plays, and contributed to many TV series, including The Return of the Antelope.
