George William Davies

Businessman; with Hepworth's 1981-8, Davies was a major figure in the retailing boom of the 80s and the inspiration behind 'Next', whose first shop opened in 1982; expansion included Next for Men (1984) and Next Directory Mail Order (1988). Davies was voted Young Businessman of the Year in 1985.
