Painter and daughter of 2nd Viscount Esher. Brett studied at the Slade and was a contemporary of Mark Gertler and Stanley Spencer. In 1924 she went to New Mexico with D. H. Lawrence and his wife and remained there, exhibiting her work in Taos in 1980. Her mystical paintings draw on the life and culture of the Pueblo Indians.
