The artist: Jeannette R. Hare (Belgian/American, 1898-1996) Hare was an internationally known sculptor. She was a student of Sterling Calder father of contemporary sculptor Alexander Calder. She has done sculpture portraits of Lowell Thomas, Dale Carnegie, Æ, Brigadier General Sir Norman Gawkins and many society people from Palm Beach Florida where she lived. She was president of the Artist Guild of the Palm Beach Art Institute. Northwood University in West Palm Beach named its art gallery “The Jeanette Hare Memorial Art Gallery after the sculptor.”
