Michael Taylor was born in Sussex in 1952 and studied at the Worthing School of Art (1969-70) and Goldsmiths School of Art (1970-73).He has held several solo exhibitions, including at the Morley Gallery, 1983, the Worthing Museum and Art Gallery, 1984 and Beaux Arts, London, 1993 and 1997. He also regularly shows in the Royal Academy Summer exhibition. He has undertaken a number of portrait commissions, including Bishop Rogers, Bishop of Oxford, John Roberts, Vice-Chancellor of Southampton University and Professor Brink of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge.
