Born in Hungary, Vincze studied in Budapest and Rome. He fled to England in 1938, setting up studio in London and becoming a British subject in 1948. He produced numerous portrait medals, exhibiting internationally and in Britain.

The private papers of W.L. Hanchant, which I have on loan, include three Christmas cards from Vincze to Hanchant, each one featuring one of his medals.
