Eric Patrick Clapton

Sitter in 10 portraits
Rock and Blues Guitarist. Began his recording career with The Yardbirds before forming Cream, the short-lived and influential group with Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce. Sought relative anonymity in Blind Faith and Derek and the Dominoes before launching a solo career. The tragic death of his four year old son inspired Tears in Heaven (1992) his most successful song after Layla (1972) and I Shot the Sheriff (1974). Recorded chart-topping album From the Cradle in 1994 winning a Grammy. Awarded an OBE in 1995.
