Dusty Springfield
(1939-1999), SingerSitter in 33 portraits
Springfield launched her solo career in 1963 with I Only Want to Be With You following her success with folk-based trio the Springfields. Her 1960s hits also included I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself (1964) and Son of a Preacher Man (1968). In 1987 Springfield returned to the charts with the Pet Shop Boys with What Have I Done to Deserve This?. She was awarded an OBE for services to the music industry in January 1999.
