William was my tutor at LSE. That would have been in 1966-1967. What more can I tell you. We would sit in his small office and just talk . Not much about what my research would be. He did not think much of it. But he knew William Barnes where I lived and he knew I wanted to get to grips with public transport as it was then. But the most important thing was when I went to his office a year later when I had decided to return to Canada and he was so supportive.
