The photographer CLAYTON EVANS was a 'society photographer' based in Beauchamp Place, Knightsbridge in the 1960's.
He was frequently commissioned by 'upper-class' families to record the evolution of their lives and went on annual tours to large houses of distinction in the north of England and Scotland.
It was from this studio that Godfrey Argent started his career, after leaving the Household Cavalry and worked on the book, The Queen Rides which was the prelude to Argent becoming regular photographer of the Royal Family.
