Li Osborne (née Luisa Friedericke Susanna Wolf) was born on 4th January 1883 in Mainz, Germany and died on 19 August 1968 in Monte Brè, Switzerland. Her first exhibition was held in Copenhagen in 1920, and from 1922 she ran a studio in Baden-Baden. In 1925 she moved to Munich where she photographed celebrities such as Berthold Brecht. Her work was included in the 1926 German Photographic Exhibition in Frankfurt but she sold her studio in 1934 due to the rise of Nazism and emigrated to Switzerland. During the war, she began a new career as a self-taught sculptor. In 1945 she moved to England. London's Beaux Arts Gallery held two shows of her sculpture in 1953 and 1956 under her later name Louise Hutchinson-Wolf.
