One of the top producers of the 60s and 70s, producing over 40 hits with Cat Stevens, The Move, PP Arnold, Showaddywaddy, Shakin' Stevens and others. Member of early 60s group The Springfields, along with Dusty and Tom, the FIRST British and to score a Top 20 USA hit record. Later became a successful lecturer on the history of English speaking popular music from the 16th century to the present day, Author of msic history book Every Song Tells A Story. Recipient of BASCA Gold Badge for lifetime achievment. Father of six children and 18 grandchildren.
