In 1846 he was plain Mr. Edmund Denison M.P. Chairman of the Great Northern Railway, whose Act he is holding. Became Sir Edmund Beckett, 4th. Baronet of Leeds on the death of his elder brother in 1872. Usually referred to as Edmund Denison to distinguish him from his son, E. B, Denison (1816-1905). See my comments under Ax10013.
