Sir Jonathan Wathen Waller (originally Phipps), 1st Bart, GCH (1769-1853) was rather more than just a landowner: he was an eye surgeon, and oculist (and "lifelong friend") to King George III and three of his sons, including George IV & William IV - he was a main attendant at George IV's bedside for several days as the King lay dying. He was created a Baronet in 1814, a Knight of the Royal Guelphic Order in 1824 (rising to Knight Grand Cross in 1830), and was appointed a Groom of the Bedchamber by William IV the year after his accession.
