Evolutionary biologist Partridge specialises in ageing research. Studying genes and the physiological mechanisms that determine the rate of ageing, much of her research has focused on age related diseases including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. She is the Weldon Professor of Biometry at University College London, where she is also director of the university's Institute of Healthy Ageing. Elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1996, she was also appointed DBE in 2009 and CBE in 2013 for services to science.
