Margaret Holgate Foster's mother was Maria Isabella Foster, who was an artist and miniaturist under her previous married name of Maria Isabella Pitt. The historic house (Scolton Manor, Pembrokeshire) I work for has 9 family portraits on loan from the sitters' descendants, painted from 1851 to 1853 by Mrs Pitt. Mrs Pitt married George Holgate Foster in 1854. She was a good friend of the family, who frequently visited the Fosters in London. I would like to find out more about Mrs Pitt/Foster but am unable to find any more portraits or pictures by her.
