Ian Jack

Jack began his journalistic career working for local newspapers in Scotland. After working for the Sunday Times he helped set up the Independent on Sunday and edited the newspaper from 1991 to 1995. He subsequently edited the literary magazine Granta until 2007 and went on to write a weekly column for the Guardian. In 2009 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a collection of his writing was published, titled The Country Formerly Known as Great Britain.
