This portrait is my Grandmother. I lived with her in Kenya and we both left in 1958. Her husband, Sir Arthur Markham, 1st Baronet, was an extraordinary man. He was a great coal mine owner, and dedicted part of his life to improving the working conditions of Miners' families, and preventing children becoming soldiers.
