We have a slender connection with the Dashwood Strettels. When I arrived at Waterloo as a 12 year-old boy on my way to Southey Hall School, Great Bookham, in 1947, their son took me across to Paddington station. The Dashwoods have a connection with the High Wycombe caves, I believe. The father at that time was a General.
