A singer-songwriter and folk musician. Born in Hampshire, Marling moved to London aged sixteen, where she became involved with a number of 'nu-folk' bands, including Noah and the Whale and the Mystery Jets. Her first two albums, Alas, I Cannot Swim (2008) and I Speak Because I Can (2010), received Mercury Music Prize nominations, and she was named Best Female Solo Artist at the 2011 Brit Awards. Her latest album A Creature I Don't Know was released in 2011.
