Writer and curator specialising in the art and design of the 19th-century. Editor of the National Art Collections Fund magazine and annual reports from 1981 to 1987. Her publications include Victorian Jewellery Design (1972) and The House Beautiful, Oscar Wilde and the Aesthetic Interior (with Lesley Hopkins, 2000). Co-curator of Victorian Fairy Painting at the Royal Academy in 1997.
