Amanda Vickery

Vickery is a writer, broadcaster and professor of early modern history at Queen Mary College, University of London. She completed her PhD in Modern History at Royal Holloway, University of London where she went on to hold an academic post. Her interests cover the seventeenth century through to the present day. Vickery's first book The Gentleman's Daughter: Women's Lives in Georgian England (1998) won several awards and in 2009, Vickery authored Behind Closed Doors: At Home in Georgian England to wide critical acclaim. Vickery is a regular contributor to television and radio and presented Amanda Vickery... On Men for BBC Radio 4 (2012).
