Dr Henry Berkeley Franks Dixon D.Sc., known as Hal Dixon, was a biochemist, University Lecturer, and Life Fellow of King's College, Cambridge. Born in Dublin, the youngest son of the botanist H. H. Dixon. Hal Dixon won a scholarship to King's College in 1946 to read Natural Sciences. He was elected to a fellowship in 1953 and remained associated with the College throughout his life. He specialised in protein chemistry, developing ways of modifying proteins and contributing to our understanding of the chemical basis of enzyme mechanisms.
