(1773-1850), King of France 1830-1848

Son of Louis Philippe Joseph, Duke of Orleans. Louis Philippe fled into exile from 1793-1814 but became king after the 1830 revolution with the backing of the rich bourgeoisie. Corruption discredited his regime and after his overthrow he escaped to Britain.
