I can certainly tell you about him. He was my grandfather, and his son, Peter Lapsley was my father. Sir John Hugh Lapsley was an RAF Wing commander. He was born in India, but after the death of his father he spent much of his childhood in The Falklands Islands. There is a wikipedia page about him here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lapsley and it looks very accurate to me.
