Bertram Alfred Wood stone is my grandfather on my mother's side. He had three children, John, Molly and my mother Ethel. He went to Brazenose College in Oxford. When my grandmother died he married a lady who I knew only as Mrs Ford, who ran the local birth control clinic. He was awarded an MBE after the war. He was often called up to London to help diagnose certain cases in the hospitals. He lectured locally on nature. He worked out of the Eye and Ear Hospital in Portsmouth and was closely affiliated on the medical side of things at HM Dockyard in Portsouth throughout the war.
