Born in East London in 1975. In 1991 he signed to play for Manchester United and made his first-team debut four years later. Beckham won his first England Cap in 1997. In 1999 he helped Manchester United win the 'Treble'. He captained the England team for six years. Since leaving Manchester United in 2003 he has played for Real Madrid and Los Angeles Galaxy. In 1999 he married 'Spice Girl' Victoria Adams, and the couple have three sons and a daughter. Beckham's high public-profile has ensured that his image is in demand by brands and fashion companies. He received an OBE in 2003 and in 2010 he was presented with the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Lifetime Achievement Award.
