Columnist for The Guardian. Previously Editor-in-chief and Editor of the now defunct The Modern Review. Burchill gained a reputation at the New Musical Express in the 1970s as a stylish, controversial rock critic, going on to write for The Sunday Times and The Mail on Sunday.
