Born in London as Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou of Greek parentage, George Michael along with Andrew Ridgeley, formed the hugely successful, teen-pop sensation duo Wham! They released a number of hit singles and albums between 1983 when they rose to fame, and their breakup in 1986. Hits include Bad Boys (1983), Wake Me Up Before You Go Go (1984) and Last Christmas (1985). George Michael has gone on to enjoy a very successful transatlantic solo career releasing a string of albums including Faith (1987), Listen Without Prejudice (1990), Older (1996) and Patience (2004).
